Psychotherapy typically means meeting for regular appointments where you are encouraged to speak as freely as possible. The aim of this approach is to generate new and more truthful knowledge about oneself that goes beyond immediate understandings. From this perspective, Dr Robertson works with many types of problems. People may have conflicts or anguish related to their sense of self, history or future, or their intimate, family, work or social relationships. They may have difficulties related to loss, dissatisfaction or adjustment to circumstances. The most important thing is to institute this process of talking freely regularly, in order to hear about how your concerns have arisen in your life context.
Appointments are usually for 45-50 minutes, and occur from twice weekly to weekly, or fortnightly. Frequency is determined on a case by case basis.
