Dr Mark Robertson is a consultant psychiatrist working in a private psychotherapy practice in Carlton, Melbourne.

Dr Robertson completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) at Monash University in 2008. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) following psychiatry training at St Vincent’s Hospital, the Alfred Hospital, and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has also completed a Masters of Psychiatry at Melbourne University.

During his psychiatry training, Dr Robertson gained a wide breadth of clinical experience with diverse populations. He has worked in adult, child and adolescent, and older aged public mental health teams, specialist psychiatric services to oncology, lung transplant, obstetric and gynaecology units, an Aboriginal health service, and a youth severe personality disorder service.

From early on in his career, Dr Robertson established a strong interest in psychotherapy. This had led to extensive study in the fields of psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and ultimately to beginning a private psychotherapy practice. He maintains ongoing study, particularly in psychoanalysis of a Lacanian orientation, and also receives regular clinical supervision from this perspective.
